Library
The Bethany School Library is one of the most popular areas on our campus! The library strives to serve the informational, recreational and educational needs of students and faculty. Most importantly, children are encouraged to love reading and books! This love is
developed through enjoying read alouds, hands on activities, author and illustrator visits, a reading club, and the theme for the year. The library theme has centered on such topics as Narnia, One Hundred Years of Flight, Space, The Yellow Submarine, and Little Library on the Prairie. A highlight is the Scholastic Book Fair which visits our library each year.
Topics covered in each grade:
K - 3: Nonfiction and fiction, parts of a book, authors and illustrators, taking care of books, picture books, folktales and fairy tales, beginning chapter books, and character issues
4 - 8: Dewey Decimal system, genres, authors and illustrators, reference materials, novels, analyzing literature, and character Issues
