We are very proud of one of our seventh graders! She was the winner of the school spelling bee and has qualified to compete in the WCPO-TV Region II Spelling Bee to be held on February 25th at the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center. One of our third graders did so much shopping at the school's Santa Shop sale that he looked very much like another famous gift-giver of the season. The sale is run by the Bethany Educators and Parents organization.
Bethany School recently held its first annual Andrew Dawson Walk-a-Thon to raise money for scholarships. The third through eighth graders walked a route through Glendale and these students took a break by a squirrel statue.
One of our kindergarteners is very excited about the leaf he found for his problem solving class. He will be learning about measuring inches using this leaf.
Sixth graders completed a historical fiction book project by creating a life-sized picture of the main character from their book. Each student was traced in a pose to reflect their character and finished the picture with clothing appropriate to the character and period. The Witch of Blackbird Pond by Elizabeth Speare, Game's End by Milton Dank, and Out of the Dust by Karen Hesse are the books portrayed here.
A first grade student is very excited about the 3-D glasses and book he bought at the school's book fair.
